Cologne

Christmas markets are a great way to introduce your pupils to German life and help pupils practise their language skills.  Cologne provides an ideal destination - it’s really magical with Christmas lights and so many market stalls, and a moored cruise liner hosts a special Christmas craft market.  Your group can enjoy open-air ice-skating after a busy day.

Pupils will enjoy climbing the Gothic Cathedral tower and exploring the quaint old town.  The pedestrianised shopping area and department stores are great for souvenirs and language projects.  You can enjoy the famous chocolate museum with its free tasting and great river views.
