Krakow

This wonderful city provides a memorable visit, incorporating contemporary life in Eastern Europe with an important historical past.  Your group can explore the beautiful old town with its cobbled streets and quaint squares, and include historic visits to the famous Jewish Quarter.  Auschwitz and Birkenau are within easy reach by coach and are the focus of many tours.

TYPICAL ITINERARY FOR A FIVE DAY TOUR

Day One

Airport coach transfers from School, flight to Krakow.  Coach journey to your hotel, check-in, enjoy your evening meal and take time to relax.

Day Two

Visit Krakow’s beautiful city centre, hilltop Wawel Castle and ornate Cathedral.  Have a traditional Polish lunch and spend some time shopping in the market square then a guided tour of the ancient Jewish Quarter with its synagogues and memorials.

Day Three

Full day excursion to Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camps with a guided study tour.  Include a memorial service at the end of your day as pupils absorb their experiences.

Day Four

Enjoy a visit to Wieliczka Salt Mines, UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Explore the stunning underground caverns, church and statues.

Day Five

Morning of shopping in Krakow with a visit to the University district or Oskar Schindler’s factory.  Coach transfer to the airport for your return flight to UK and coach drive to School.
